Paris, 9 September 2026 — The Sudan Policy Advisory Group (SPAG) has announced the election of Zeinab Osman as Secretary-General and Treasurer, following the Group’s first Ordinary General Assembly, held on 1 September 2026.
Her election forms part of SPAG’s ongoing efforts to
consolidate its institutional governance and leadership arrangements, as the
Group continues to strengthen its organisational structure and develop its
management, accountability and internal operating systems.
In her capacity as Secretary-General and Treasurer, Zeinab
will assume responsibilities related to institutional administration, support
the implementation of governance decisions and frameworks, strengthen internal
management systems, and oversee administrative and financial follow-up, in
accordance with SPAG’s Statutes.
Zeinab brings professional experience spanning
administration, human resources, procurement, logistics and operations,
complemented by experience working both in the field and remotely across
diverse professional environments.
Throughout her career, she has worked with a range of local
and international organisations, building experience in programme support,
operations and facilities management, procurement, event coordination, and the
provision of operational and administrative support.
Earlier in her career, Zeinab worked in procurement with
private-sector organisations in Sudan, where her responsibilities included
supplier selection, agreement negotiations, vendor relationship management,
performance monitoring, procurement processes and supply-chain coordination.
She subsequently assumed responsibilities in human resources
management, including the development of internal policies and procedures,
management of recruitment processes, preparation of contracts and job
descriptions, development of performance appraisal systems, staff training, and
support to organisational development.
Commenting on her election, Zeinab Osman said: “This
responsibility represents a continuation of institutional work that requires a
high degree of organisation and discipline. In the period ahead, the priority
will be to support the development of effective administrative and financial
systems, strengthen internal governance, and create an enabling working
environment that allows the Group’s programmes and initiatives to move
systematically and responsibly from institutional frameworks to
implementation.”
She added: “The strength of any institution is measured
not only by its ideas, but also by its ability to manage its resources,
organise its work and safeguard the integrity of its operations. With this in
mind, we will continue to develop clear internal systems that promote
accountability, efficiency and institutional sustainability, guided by the
highest international standards in this field.”
Zeinab holds a degree in Business Administration from Ahfad
University for Women in Sudan, as well as a diploma in Human Resources
Management. She has also completed a number of professional programmes and
certifications in management, data protection, gender and professional ethics.
She has additionally contributed to a range of voluntary and
community-based activities, including initiatives supporting children and work
with people with visual disabilities.
Zeinab’s election is part of the institutional arrangements
endorsed by SPAG’s first General Assembly as the Group continues to strengthen
its governance, accountability and internal management systems, while advancing
its programmes in research, public policy, capacity development and innovation.
