Capacity Building: investing in people and institutions

Human and institutional capacity development is a core part of our work, alongside research and knowledge production. We seek to strengthen the skills and competencies of Sudanese professionals across a range of fields, through training programmes in management and planning and opportunities for continuous learning, so that institutions are better able to meet challenges and sustain the progress they make.

Our capacity-development work goes beyond training. We provide technical assistance and support institutional development, helping partner institutions strengthen their management systems, procedures and ways of working, drawing on the research and expertise of our working groups.

Developing Sudanese talent is a central focus of this pillar. Through public administration training and community engagement programmes, it contributes to SDG 16, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and in particular to building effective institutions.
