Training the next generation of Sudanese leaders across public service and administration.
The Sudan Academy of Public Administration is envisioned as a flagship capacity-building initiative of the Sudan Policy Advisory Group, designed to prepare emerging and experienced professionals for leadership and responsibility across Sudan’s public institutions. The Academy will focus on strengthening the knowledge, judgement and practical capabilities required for effective, accountable and modern public administration.
Its programmes will connect policy knowledge with the realities of public service, helping participants understand how institutions function, how public decisions are developed and implemented, and how leaders can manage resources, teams and reform processes effectively. Learning will combine practical training, expert-led sessions, applied case studies and engagement with experienced Sudanese practitioners and specialists.
The Academy will place particular emphasis on public leadership, policy implementation, institutional management, public finance, ethics and accountability, strategic communication, digital government and the challenges of recovery and institutional rebuilding. Its approach will be grounded in Sudan’s context while drawing selectively on relevant regional and international experience.
Beyond individual training, the Academy is intended to contribute to a stronger pipeline of professionals ready to serve Sudan’s institutions with competence, integrity and a clear commitment to the public interest. It will also create opportunities to transfer knowledge between generations and connect Sudanese expertise at home and across the diaspora.
Work is currently underway to develop the Academy’s learning framework, curriculum and delivery model, with further information to be announced as the initiative progresses.
