Solidarity: partnerships for more cohesive communities

Solidarity is a core principle of our work. It underpins cooperation, mutual support and joint action. We bring together partners and expertise at different levels in support of Sudan's sustainable development priorities, in line with SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals.

We treat social cohesion as a development theme. We produce research and analysis on social cohesion, inclusion and community resilience, and make this knowledge available to institutions, communities and partners working on development and recovery.

Our approach

We contribute to social cohesion and to cooperation among stakeholders. We convene platforms for consultation and dialogue, promote equity and inclusion, and support partnership initiatives that strengthen social cohesion and joint work.

Priority areas

01

Community engagement

Open dialogue with communities through meetings, workshops and forums where people can set out their needs and priorities.

02

Inclusive development

Leaving no one behind, by involving the most vulnerable groups in development work and contributing to programmes designed around their needs.

03

Social cohesion

Research and dialogue on social cohesion as a foundation for inclusive development, together with cultural exchange and community activities that respect cultural diversity.

04

Knowledge for recovery

Making analysis and technical expertise available to partners supporting communities affected by crises, disasters and health emergencies in their response and recovery.
