Sudan Solidarity Board
A platform for building partnerships and supporting social cohesion.
The Sudan Solidarity Board (SSB) is a flagship initiative of SPAG under its Solidarity pillar. SPAG is establishing the Board as a platform where Sudanese communities, civil society organisations, institutions, Sudanese professionals abroad and international partners can come together around shared development priorities. The Board builds on SPAG's commitment to solidarity as a basis for mutual support and cooperation.
The Board will seek to build partnerships and bring together expertise and resources in support of initiatives that strengthen communities and contribute to Sudan's recovery and sustainable development. It will give particular attention to connecting those who can contribute knowledge, institutional support and practical solutions, and to encouraging cooperation across geographic, social and professional boundaries.
Social cohesion and inclusive participation are central to the initiative. Through consultation, community engagement and joint initiatives, the Board aims to create spaces where different perspectives meet, shared priorities are identified and trust can grow. It will take care to include communities and groups that are often less represented.
The Board will also offer a framework for coordinated support at times of acute need, connecting partners and relevant capacities in support of communities, their resilience and their recovery. Its work will be informed by SPAG's research and by evidence on community resilience and recovery. In this way the Board seeks to turn solidarity into practical cooperation, bringing Sudanese expertise at home and abroad together with partners committed to inclusive and sustainable development in Sudan.
