Sudan Digital Transformation Initiative
Contributing to the digital economy and the modernisation of public services, and supporting innovation hubs.
The Sudan Digital Transformation Initiative (SDTI) is a flagship initiative of SPAG under its Innovation pillar. It explores how technology and digital systems can strengthen institutional capacity, widen economic opportunity and support Sudan's recovery and longer-term development. It builds on existing efforts in digital infrastructure and electronic public services.
The modernisation of public services is a central strand of the Initiative. It examines how digital infrastructure, data, connected systems and services designed around users' needs can make public administration more efficient, accessible and transparent.
The Initiative also supports Sudan's digital economy and innovation ecosystem by bringing together entrepreneurs, technology specialists, researchers, institutions and partners. Working with partners, it supports innovation hubs and applied programmes that offer space to test ideas and develop solutions suited to local conditions.
The Initiative gives priority to inclusive digital transformation, with a focus on digital access, skills and participation, including opportunities for young people, professionals and underserved communities. Its work combines research, partnerships, pilot projects and knowledge exchange, and draws on Sudanese expertise at home and abroad.
The Initiative seeks to contribute to a Sudan in which technology serves institutions, people and economic development as a means to more capable public administration, wider opportunity and better public services.
